What this tool does
This planner helps you spot the best sailing windows by comparing the typical wind patterns and tidal ranges for popular UK and European destinations at different times of year, matched to your boat and experience.
It describes typical seasonal conditions to help you plan, it is not a live forecast.
When to use it
Use it when you are planning a sailing trip and deciding when or where to go, when you want to match a destination to your experience level, or when you want a feel for the conditions before you commit to dates.
How it works
You choose your destination, the month, your boat type and your experience, and add any preferences. It then describes the typical winds and tides, the better windows to aim for and the conditions to be cautious of. Nothing you enter is saved, and you do not need to give your name or email to use it. Always check live weather forecasts, tide tables and local pilotage before you go to sea, as conditions on the day are what matter.
